IMPORTANT NOTES

- Gabon is a very special country in all senses. It’s a natural paradise with 88% of forest, almost 900 km. of uninterrupted virgin coast, with only 1’5 million people and the only country where the forest elephant population is growing. But is also an oil country, very expensive, with almost everything imported (even food) with high duty taxes, with almost no roads; a country where is very difficult to organize touristic trips and where the traveler needs to come with a lot of patience for the train stations in the middle of the night, and also patience for the restaurants and hotel services, etc. We use the trains because we want to avoid risks in the bad roads and also to win time (better to travel by train in the night than do very long hard road day trips). Also the speed boat transfer in the Ogooue river, from Lambarene to Omboue, is long (5-6h approx.), but is the best option, and is also a very nice trip where is possible to see hippos and birds. All accommodations are very well situated in natural places. Please explain very well to your clients before they book the tour: is an amazing and unique trip, but you need a lot of patience and you have to be ready for this.

Mandrills project: from 60 to 69 years old you need to provide (before arrival) a medical certificate (just saying that you are in healthy conditions to do a safari trip), but even if the client have more than 69 but is in healthy conditions, can come to the trip with the medical certificate.

- If the client wants to arrive earlier, please let us know and we will book for you the extra accommodation and airport transfers.

- It is also possible to add an extension to Pongara National Park (wildlife, nice lodge, amazing wild and paradisiac beach) or to another neighboring country such as Cameroon, the islands Sao Tome & Principe or any other Central Africa country.

- Visits and excursions order may be modified according with local conditions.

- Travel with a single “soft” suitcase, not a big a rigid one, and one backpack.

- Compulsory vaccinations: Yellow fever

- Trip expenses: traveler can change into local coin in the capital around 300 € for drinks and not included meals.

- We recommend bringing a shower cap, torch, and solar cream, long and short clothes (dark clothes for the forest).

- Services codes: breakfast + accommodation (BB), half board (HB), full board (FB)
